After a loss you always want to return strong. The match with Chobham was no different and it was important to start well.

Helped by winning the toss Chobham were inserted. A top catch by Charlie dismissed the opener (Charlie - square leg is your for the season) saw us begin well. The dual spin of Andy and Danny took over from the quicks (Danny the pick returning 4 for 19) and wickets fell continuously and a very low total looked on the cards. Some clean hitting by Jackman enabled Chobham to reach a respectable 133 from a track that was providing help to bowlers.

As seems customary Ks response was not smooth, losing Charlie cheaply and Ellis before he had scored 20. However, the top order remained strong with Martin (67 not out) and Andy (23 not out) seeing us home in 24 overs.

A great al round performance from the team in putting a tricky match away in comprehensive fashion. A first league win and great bowling display backed up by the batting. Roll on West End Esher!
