A few changes to the first XI for the away game to Chiswick as the previous weeks stag weekend participants returned for the game against C&L. After much deliberation a 40 over format was decided upon and after promptly losing the toss the C&L skip had the audacity to bat first in the 25 degree heat.

J. Miah and Hendo opened the bowling in the glorious sunshine with Hendo his usual frugal self but Miah unusually expensive in his early overs. The C&L openers got away at above 6 an over initially but were slowly pegged back as Miah found his line. Success quickly arrived with controlled bowling with Hendo breaking the opening partnership. Enforced bowling changes saw Mason (1-23 from 8 overs) and Mackay (3-14 from 8) into the attack and C&L struggled to score with the early fluidity. Loveridge and Osborne were brought in and although Danny was a touch expensive to C&L's heavy hitting No.9 he returned good figures of 3-52. Ben was well controlled again and despite not picking up any wickets kept the score down with 18 runs coming from his 4 overs. Hendo returned to clean up the tail and end the oppo innings at 178 all out from 39.2.
All in all an excellent fielding (jungle and soaked outfield aside) performance given the fast start. Of note is Mason's two catches in the field including one storming catch.

The batting started with Ellis and Gary opening and after a few tight overs. Ellis began to score freely but once again fell in the 20s when a score looked on. This brought 1s debutant Sachin, the pilot!, to the crease and he immediately began how he left off the week before - scoring a quick 15. The run rate increased as Gary began to score more freely and new batsman, Hendo, and then Joel (who joined after Gary departed for 43) all managed to pick up runs. It wouldn't be K's without a few batting niggles as Hendo departed with the score on 115-4 and a lot of work still to do. Clearly things were not helped when Joel saw nose bleed Mackay coming out to bat at 6 (a position not seen since at least the early 90s). The worries were not founded as Joel and Mackay put on 50 for the 5th wicket and took Ks to the brink of victory. Osborne completed the formalities and Joel completed his first, of many, Saturday half centuries.
