Lost the toss and we got inserted.

Our opponents only had nine players so the decision to put us in was understandable. We got off to a steady but slow start, Martin Sherwood 18 and Steve Smith 15 putting on 27 for the first wicket. Pali Palekar 29 was third wicket to fall on 82,after Martin was out with our score on 43.Fabian Saverimuttu 17 was fourth man out on 84. We then had a stand between Bhavish Jathwa 28 and Alfie Mekwan 28 Not Out that took our total to 135.With Bhavish's departure, Charlie Welch 2 was next out 4 runs later. Another good stand between Alfie and Malcolm Smith 22 got us to 166 and the skip 6 Not Out saw us through to the maximum 47 overs. Tham Welagadara and Matt Loveridge the batsmen not required. Extras 4 Byes,2 Leg Byes,2 Wides and 2 No Balls, our innings closed on 175 for 7.

For the first time the skip decided to start our attack with the old ball, Matt Loveridge 11-2-39-1 (Catch by Bhavish Jathwa) and Fabian Saverimuttu 7-0-50-0 having use for the first 10 overs. New ball taken by Matt and youngster Tham Welagadara 6-0-21-1 (Bowled) in two three over spells. Bhavish Jathwa  5.5-0-31-0 and Malcolm Smith 4-0-17-0 our only other bowlers used as Normandy coasted to victory at 177 for 2 in 34.5 overs. Extras 16 Byes,3 Leg Byes,10 wides and 7 No Balls.

Not a bad performance against the side streaking away at the top of the league even though they were two men short. Fielding generally good with few chances offered. Good to see nearly everyone who batted getting into double figures, just a shame no one went on to make a higher score with all the extra space in the field.
