Good start to the day, sun is shining and it promises to be the hottest day of the summer so far, then the skipper wins the toss for the second week running.

Staines & Laleham are asked to bat first and the Kempton attack give one of their best team performances for a long time. Opening bowlers Matt Loveridge 15.1-4-29-4 (3 catches-Steve Smith, Abu Palekar and Alfie Mekwan and a clean bowled) and Mike Dart 5-1-17-1 (Bowled) got us off to a good start with wickets falling with the scores on 20,21 and 35.Mike Dart being replaced by Tom Broad 4-1-18-1 (catch by Alfie Mekwan) and then Aaron Campbell 6-1-17-4 (2 Bowled and 1 catch each for Simon Fennich and Mike Dart) and our opponents innings had collapsed from 60 for 4 to 95 All Out after 30.1 overs. Extras 9 Byes,1 Leg Bye,3 Wides and 2 No Balls.

Our reply got off to a bad start with Alfie Mekwan getting a Primary with the first ball of our innings and things went from bad to worse. Our other opener Simon Fennich 7 held up an end and watched a procession of our batsmen come and go, Pali for 19,James Warne 0,Gordon Young 0 before he fell himself with our score 34 for 5.Mike Dart 7 and Tom Broad 0 (out to a very sharp and low Caught and Bowled) soon followed then Steve Smith 15 in his first game of the season stuck around and was last man out. Skip got a Primary and Matt Loveridge 0 didn't last much longer. Last man Aaron Campbell 7 Not Out helped us to a respectable score as we were bowled out for 69 in 26.1 overs. Extras 4 Byes,4 Leg Byes,4 Wides and 1No Ball.

Once again Staines & Laleham prove to be our bogey team and congratulations to their skipper David Gyves on his bowling analysis 11-7-22-7. Seems we don't have a problem with bowling and fielding this season, but the batting on this occasion was poor. Steve Smith behind the stumps doing a good job on his return and all the fielders performing to the highest standard, except the skip putting down a sharp chance at slip that would have given Aaron his first 5 wicket haul.
